Mercy Communications Café opening online on 5th February
We are delighted to announce that the Mercy Communications Café will open online for the first time on Wednesday 5th February 2025.
The meeting will take place on Zoom from 9.00pm to 10.00pm (local time to Dublin).
Welcoming our first guest speaker
We look forward to welcoming Brother Richard Hendrick Ofm Cap as our guest speaker.
Brother Richard is a Capuchin Franciscan priest-friar living and working in Ireland. His poem 'Lockdown' went viral in the early months of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 and was translated into 26 languages and shared widely on traditional and social media throughout the world. It was also the subject of a piece with Anderson Cooper on CNN.
Currently based in Dublin, Brother Richard teaches Christian meditation and mindfulness with the Sanctuary Spirituality Centre in inner city Dublin.
He is gifted communicator and one of many pioneers when it comes to sharing faith on the digital highways.
Brother Richard will speak to us on the theme of this year's World Communications Day Message which is 'Share with gentleness the hope that is in your hearts.' (cf. 1 Pet 3:15-16).
Be part of the Mercy Communications Café
Our Mercy Communications Café is an online space for us to come together to connect, to hear from guest speakers and to look at various communications topics and themes such as social media, websites, storytelling, best practice, AI, newsletters and more.
We will host this gathering on Zoom on a regular basis in 2025. We would also envisage getting together for an in-person event down the line at Mercy International Centre in Dublin.
So if you are new to a Mercy Communications role, are an existing team member, are a Sister who has the communications brief, or would like to gain more expertise in the area of communications, then the Mercy Communications Café is for you.
