We are delighted to share the following message for Maria Lawton rsm, Chair of the Board of Directors of Mercy International Association (MIA):

A ripple effect beyond imagining

It is with a sense of awe and deep gratitude that I contemplate Mercy Day 2026, and all that has flowed from the first House of Mercy, and across the world, since its opening on Mercy Day 1827 almost 200 years ago.

It is indeed awesome, to reflect on the global reach and impact of Catherine McAuley and all those who have continued her efforts in responding in Mercy in areas of need, over almost 200 years. A ripple effect beyond imagining!

My deep gratitude is for all those women and men of Mercy who have contributed their gifts, skills, experience, and passion for justice to support, continue and grow Mercy Ministries around the world.
