Novenas call us to prayer each day.

The word Novena comes from novem, the Latin word for nine. A Novena has its origin in the nine days the Apostles and Mary prayed together in the upper room between the Ascension of Jesus and Pentecost.

People pray a Novena to ask God for a special favour, seek a saint's intercession, or prepare for a holy feast day. Our Catherine McAuley Novena will give thanks for Catherine's life and vision. It will bring us together across the Mercy World over the nine days leading up to Mercy Day 2027 - the day on which we will mark the 200th anniversary of the Founding of the First House of Mercy in 1827.

A full Novena Resource Pack is currently being prepared and will be available as a link here when all the piece of it come together from across the Mercy World.
